As Spring sprang, the Hollywood Sign basked in the sun and shared the spotlight with the FIFA World Cup Trophy and Italian soccer legend Alessandro Del Piero marking the beginning of the Trophy’s cross-country journey including 38 cities. The excitement was palpable; there’s nothing quite like experiencing the sprawling views of Los Angeles from the top of Mt. Lee and absorbing the hopes and dreams the 9 letters have inspired for over 100 years. We were honored to commemorate the occasion and be captured in this historical moment. We look forward to the World Cup kick off on June 12. Speaking of epic cross-country journeys, Spectrum News is celebrating America 250 rediscovering what it means to be American by meeting people and telling stories along the way! We were thrilled they joined us at the Hollywood Sign to learn more about our stories and history. This adventure will culminate in a special airing across their stations and online, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out. We’ll keep you posted.

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to have artist and photographer Zara Pfeifer from Berlin join us at the Sign representing the MAK Schindler Scholarship. This intriguing program explored the maintenance and preservation of iconic Los Angeles landmarks – including the Sign. Zara’s project was on exhibit at the MAK Center with incredible images of the Sign. We hear she may be back for a follow up. We’ll let you know!

We also celebrated the inaugural Hollywood Sign Sign-ies Awards, presented by the Hollywood Sign Trust! As the Sign has had countless star turns over the years, we decided it was finally time to acknowledge the most memorable appearances across a wide range of categories, from romantic comedies and television shows to reality TV, animated films, documentaries, and a few unexpected honors including: Best Stunt at the Sign: Olympics Passing of the Torch with Tom Cruise (2024) and Best David Lynch Film: (In Memoriam) Mulholland Drive (2001)
You can check out the show here on our YouTube. And we look forward to next award season, please keep in touch and please share your input by DMing us on IG or by emailing us at Instagram@HollywoodSign.org
On an ending note, this month, the Hollywood Sign is featured in a travel guide from German writer Lena Müller that we want to share as it embodies the magic of the Sign:
“The Hollywood Sign transcends trends, inspiring generations with its steadfast presence amid changing skylines. Its magnetic pull, felt in the vastness and history, promises personal stories amid nature's embrace. Every traveler finds reason here, from dream-chasers to families, to claim a piece of Hollywood magic.” See more below in media highlights.
Oh and P.S. May the Force be with you!
